Description: The Cardiac Care Initiative (CCI) is a phased approach designed to reduce the use of unnecessary cardiac diagnostic procedures, limit the associated cost trend, and enhance the quality of ambulatory cardiac care provided to BCBSM members. Phases I and II are being rolled out for the 2011 program year. Phase III will address the diagnostic and therapeutic cascade in cardiac care and is slated to begin by the start of the 2012 program year.
