Stacked accounts

Employers may offer an HSA with an FSA or HRA in the following circumstances:


  • With post-deductible HRAs and FSAs, in which case the post-deductible HRA or post-deductible FSA only provides benefits after the annual health plan deductibles are met
  • With limited purpose HRAs and FSAs (ones providing dental, vision or both)
  • With special purpose HRAs and FSAs (a combination of post-deductible and limited purpose)
