Implementation of a Depression Stepped Treatment Protocol and Management System for Cardiovascular Patients

In any year, an estimated 6.6 percent of Americans are clinically depressed. Although depression is considered highly treatable, few of those people actively seek treatment. Approximately one-third to one-half of patients with major depression go unrecognized and untreated. This initiative is intended to support interventions that facilitate entry into care and provide appropriate treatment for clinical depression.
