Our Mission — The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation is dedicated to improving the health of Michigan residents through the support of research and innovative programs.

Our Vision is to make a significant contribution to improve the health of Michigan residents by supporting:

• Clinical and applied research on the health care system, including the delivery and financing of care.
• Health initiatives that focus on the quality and costs of care, access to care and social responsibility.

The BCBSM Foundation is the philanthropic affiliate of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The BCBSM Foundation focuses its funding within Michigan on the following priorities:

• Quality and Costs of Care
• Access to Care
• Community Health

Approximately $2.75 million is available annually for grants to support the health care-related work of Michigan's researchers and nonprofit community organizations. The BCBSM Foundation programs support research, foster community solutions to critical health care problems, acknowledge excellence in research, and support medical and doctoral students interested in health care.
